Dyro (born April 22, 1992) is the stage name of Jordy van Egmond, a Dutch dance and electronic house DJ who emerged in 2013 as one of DJ’s promising new stars.
Egmond’s ascension to success has been swift, with 3 years practice under his belt in 2011 the DJ began demoing and attempted to get his music out there by sending his tracks to the artists he respected most. One of those artists was DJ Hardwell who released Dyro’s debut EP titled “Daftastic” on his Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings label. Egmond would put his records in the bags of much admired DJs such as David Guetta and Dada Life, which also contributed to Dyro’s steep success.
In 2012 Egmond was tipped to be Breakthrough Artist of the year by the likes of Hardwell and Laid-back Luke, and his release of his “Beatport #1” record the same year only secured this conviction. Shortly after, at just 21 years of age, he collaborated with Hardwell on the record “Never Say Goodbye” as well as finding time to put in a shift on the global clubbing circuit. The single “Never Say Goodbye” has amassed over 3 million views on YouTube and was one of the biggest EDM tracks of the year.
In early 2013 Dyro released a string of original and remixed material which solidified his reputation and before long was being played by a whole host of DJs across the world. Egmond followed this by a extensive tour with Hardwell playing sold out shows in Canada, Miami, U.S., London, UK, and Ibiza among many others. The same year Dyro was named No. 30 in the Top 100 DJs Poll, hosted his own radio show on SiriusXM named “Daftastic” and released his follow up album “Leprechauns and Unicorns”.
