T. Mills Biography

Born on April 12th 1989, Riverside’s T. Mills has built up a reputation as a rapper and singer in his own right, with his hip-hop and synth pop debut in 2009 taking him to the top 20 of the US Rap Chart. It started for Travis Tatum Mills at the age of 15 when his uncle gave Mills his very first guitar. Mills, decided to drop out of school to pursue a career in a punk band with his peers, but it was Bone Thugs-n-Harmony who were the inspiration behind pursuing a rap career instead, fusing it with singing at the same time. Mills became a bedroom artist at the age of seventeen, when he began to use Pro Tools and Logic to compose tracks for his songs. He posted music on MySpace at the age of 18, and earned himself a following that was quickly growing. He landed a slot on the Vans Warped Tour in 2009, and there after, many more worthy performances. After being offered a contract with many different labels, he decided to sign a deal with Uprising Records, who were responsible for releasing his debut EP, “Finders Keepers” on July 14th 2009. He followed this the year after on September 28th 2010 with “Ready, Fire, Aim!” and the success of this album caught the attention of the major label, Columbia Records who signed Mills at the beginning of 2011. Whilst working on his debut album, he had to cull over a hundred songs to narrowing the list of songs down to 10 for his album; however, he made a last minute decision to release another EP rather than an album. It was a free project for his loyal fans. Moving forward in his career, Mills was nominated for an MtvU Woodie Award nomination for Best New Artist. On July 23rd 2012, he released a mixtape called “Thrillionaire”, following the success of the EP, two singles were released, “Lightweight” and “Diemonds”, and then another video called “Other Bitch Callin”. With his major label album still postponed, he finally decided to release “All I Wanna Do” on February 25th 2014. That year, he embarked on a tour supporting We the Kings, The Ready Set and Breathe Carolina. Read more
